Teaching & Practice

Julie is teaching contemporary dance, authentic jazz and Lindyhop for children, youngsters and adults. She has taught in the UK and Denmark at educational institutions such as Morley College and Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School as well as in kindergartens, elderly homes and schools of gymnastics and ballet. She has recently been a guest speaker at London Contemporary Dance School for Professional Studies project: Shift: Dialogues with the Profession. Currently she is teaching at Happy Feet Studio and is associated artist at Børns Møde med Kunsten (DK).

Together with Birgitte Lundtoft, they are doing ‘Stedets Signatur’ investigating in movement and nature relationships as duo and with children 4th-6th grade, supported by Danish Arts Council, Tårnby and Holstebro Kommune. The project is made in collaboration with Tvis Mølle naturlaboratorium and Amager naturcenter.

PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT

Dansehallerne, DK 2014 – 2015, Dansekapellet 2016
A forum for dancers to develop their movement practices and choreographic methods and take part in other’s, through moving, dialogue and observation. The practice runs twice a month in Copenhagen.  There are currently 22 participating practitioners. 1st September four from the group shared the first improvisation at Dansekapellet to live music by HALVCIRKEL.
